There is massive confusion about whether student should include their siblings. We will explain some of the most aroused confusion regarding siblings’ information.

Q. Should I fill in family information (IMM 5645 or IMM 5707)?

-> IMM 5707 is for paper application, and an outdated form as the paper application is not valid except in specific scenarios. Always fill up the IMM5645 form as it is a new form for online applications. Students are filling out the old form and still getting their application approved, but we always suggest to fill a new and updated one.

Q. I didn’t mention my siblings and got PPR. What should I do now?

-> If you have already got your PPR. You can still fill out the new form and submit it via webform. But we suggest not to do such things and Be truthful with your future application.

Q. I have submitted my application but didn’t get PPR yet. Can I submit the new IMM 5645 form?

-> Yes, you can submit the new form before your application is approved.

Q. Is it a misrepresentation to not show your siblings in family information form?

-> No. It’s always not a misrepresentation. Misrepresentation means showing false or altered documents which diverted the Visa officer to approve your application. If your sibling’s information, sometimes, could have changed the decision of your application, and you didn’t mention them, it could lead up to 5 years of Ban. The student should always be truthful as IRCC will use this form in future use too (read the last line of the family information form). Submitting false documents is also a misrepresentation.
